NightLight® Pediatric Urgent Care is now Part of the Mednax® Family

On March 12, 2021, NightLight® Pediatric Urgent Care was acquired by Mednax® National Medical Group, a leader in women’s and children’s health care. Mednax® will aid in the expansion of our pediatric presence in the Lone Star State and beyond.

Mednax® is a physician-led health care organization that partners with hospitals, health systems and health care facilities to offer clinical services spanning the women’s and children’s continuum of care. Their mission is to “Take great care of the patient, every day and in every way.”

This exciting affiliation marks the start of our new pediatric ‘total’ care model. The model will bring together urgent/acute care, primary care and telehealth services. This reimagined approach strives to change the delivery of pediatric care in the future. In addition to traditional pediatric urgent care services, patients will have access to an expanded pediatric continuum of care, benefiting from Mednax’s established pediatric subspecialty services. Beyond pediatric services, this model will also incorporate care for high-risk newborns and include prenatal services.

NightLight® was founded in 2007 to provide screening, diagnosis and treatment for a variety of minor non-emergent health issues, working in partnership with community pediatricians. Comprising seven physicians, 14 advanced practice providers, 20 nurses and medical assistants, and administrative staff, we serve more than 90,000 patients annually at eight locations throughout Houston, including Cy-Fair, Garden Oaks, Humble, Katy, Pearland, Sugar Land, Tanglewood and Webster.

NightLight® is tailored to the patients we serve. Kid-friendly murals and colorful exam rooms provide an environment that puts kids—and parents—at ease. We also treat several conditions via telehealth with services available in English and Spanish.

This growth opportunity adds to the services Mednax® provides in Texas through its network of affiliated physicians across multiple specialties, including maternal-fetal medicine; OB hospitalist; neonatology; newborn nursery; newborn hearing screen; developmental pediatrics; and pediatric cardiology, critical care, hospitalist, infectious disease, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, orthopedics, surgery and urology.
